STEM Science Camp

April 6, 2017

On Saturday, March 25th, 50 of our female 5th grade Level One Scholars enjoyed a STEM day. We had Dr. Youngblood and Dr. Frizzell from Prairie View A & M, Catherine Majors from Rice University, Robin Minton, a biologist, and Nayeli Cortina, an engineer, presenting their field of study to our girls. In addition, Jocelyn Martinez, a former Andre’ student and current senior at Cy-Springs H.S., spoke to our girls. She shared the importance of putting forth effort in school, which lead to her earning a full paid scholarship to a university. A fun filled day of STEM and hands on experiments, motivational speakers and future career opportunities in math, science, engineering and technology was enjoyed by all!
